Dr. Diagnosis Part 2

These past few years there have been quite a few ‘it’ diseases and disorders to diagnose. ADD, ADHD, DID, PTSD, anxiety, and gender dysphoria are ‘in’ things to have. There are people who genuinely have these, and are angry that their lives are being made a mockery of.

There are far too many doctors out there who don’t require much to get a new ‘it’ diagnosis. They are hungry for patients, for your money, for the prestige of having a patient with a rare disorder. There are far too many doctors out there who have lost their souls, and are no longer there for you and your actual needs.

I’m not anti-doctor, I’m just against crap doctors, and have learned what to look for. Right now I have a great nurse practitioner. What makes her so great is her thoroughness. Her ability to admit when she doesn’t know something. She isn’t diagnosis happy. I haven’t been shy with her about my mistrust of medical professionals, and she has been patient and understanding. I’ve explained what I’m looking for, and she fits the bill. I hope others will take a similar approach and get the right doctors.
