1 Corinthians 13:13 says ‘And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love’. You see, love is life. Love is everything. When you love someone, they become more important to you than yourself. You find yourself doing things you hate, because you love the person you are doing them for. Love gives us purpose, and when we have purpose, we grow and we thrive.
God loves us with a perfect love, and though I am most definitely imperfect, I try my best to love others as He loves me. I want people to see what love actually is. It is more than a feeling, it is actions. It is a choice. It is work, and at times it can be heartbreaking, but it is always worth it. Love is setting ourselves aside, and doing for others. Sometimes it’s as small as picking up dog poop in the yard, doing dishes, or folding laundry. Oftentimes it’s caring for your loved one while they are sick/dying. It’s running yourself ragged while caring for your loved one who needs you. It’s mourning. There is nothing more pure, more beautiful than love.
