Deborah was a prophetess, we hear about her in Judges 4. She was also the leader of Israel at that time. She led her people to war, and they were victorious! Can you imagine back then, a mere woman is not only leading God’s people, but she leads them in war as well. What a strong and amazing woman God chose for the Israelites.

Throughout the Bible, we see God’s character. We read about the ordinary men and women He chooses to do extraordinary things. Anyone, of either gender, can be a tool for God’s purpose.

It’s difficult to imagine a female war leader in Biblical times, but here we find Deborah. Deborah was a strong, intelligent, respected, woman of faith. Faith is what moves mountains, it’s what wins wars, saves lives, and gives us purpose.
