My conception isn’t one for fairytales. God knew that my life would continue to cause me immense pain, and my path would be impossible without, not only Him, but parents led by Him. I’ve shared about my incredible mother, so today I want to tell you about my father.

My father embodies love. He taught me what love is, and what healthy relationships look like. While countless people were breaking me, and telling me that I’m worthless, unlovable, dirty, and worse, my father built me up. His heart broke when my heart broke. He is the dad who makes sure his family knows that they are loved.

My father was my rock when my late husband was killed. Though he was grieving too, he took the reins and led me through the things I needed to do. He made it possible for me to get lost in the devastation. He was my safe place. He still is.

God gave me a father who could teach me that it’s possible to have disagreements, even arguments, without raising your voice or swearing. My father is the best teacher for all things Godly. He taught me how to have grace, patience, gratitude even in dark times. He taught me the importance of humility, and kindness. He taught me about God, Jesus, and faith. He taught me what Christianity is.

God knew the horrors that would come my way in life, and He graciously sent me my dad. He sent me the most beautiful, brightest, and most loving of fathers. God has given me many blessings in this life. My father was one of the first.
