God is the ultimate Father. He treats us as His children, much like our earthly fathers do, or at least should. He yearns for our unwavering faith in Him. He wants us to rely on Him, to come to Him for everything. He wants to keep us safe, to provide for us. So, the question is, if He has means to keep His children safe, why doesn’t He?

If we never suffer, if we never see what Hell is, and we get to float through life, what do we learn? How does God build a relationship with His child that takes Him for granted, because He takes care of everything? How do we learn to lean on Him, to seek Him out, to trust Him if we don’t know what evil is like?

When we get beat down by the evil on this earth, and we seek Him, we learn things. We learn that He is suffering with us, that He is angry on our behalf. We learn that those who hurt us will, one day, have to face the consequences of their actions. We learn to communicate with God, and how to build an intimate relationship with Him. We learn how to hurt, and be vulnerable, and because of this, we learn how to grow. We learn how to communicate with our loved ones here on earth, and we learn how to build healthy, intimate relationships with them.
