Christians are often mocked and ridiculed for our faith. Especially when we choose to have hope and faith when there is trauma. Even some Christians find it impossible, and even stupid to hang onto hope, and God, when we’re surviving rape, miscarriages, physical abuse, or death of a loved one. I’m guilty of that. I used to think people who were clinging onto Christ while going through Hell on Earth were insane.
My past is covered with painful experiences. I allowed my trauma to push me further and further from my Father. I lost hope, and with that I lost myself. Having hope in the worst of times is essential to our souls. Keeping our faith and leaning on our Father when Hell rains down on us, is a sign of strength, and courage. God is our motivator, our sign that better things are coming. He is the One who creates light from darkness. There is a book on this very subject.
Have you ever read a book that impacted you on a soul deep level? One that gave you goosebumps, and made you cry in the best way possible? Recently, I read a book that left me feeling spiritually nourished. This book is filled with God’s love, His light, and it shows you what happens when you cling onto hope and faith, even in times of turmoil. When our world comes crashing down, we don’t always seek God. Instead we push Him away, and blame Him for the things others do to us. But what if we had hope, and sought Him out for comfort in those times? What if we let Him in, and kept building our faith instead of running from Him?
A man named Samuel Grace reached out to me on X to tell me that he had written a book he thought I’d enjoy. His book is called, ‘What if? a story of hope.’ I didn’t just enjoy it, I loved it. Tears were streaming down my face for most of the book, my body was covered in goosebumps, and my heart was full with God’s love. Samuel tells a touching story, with a God given gift of words. It’s not often that someone can tell a story that deals with heavy subjects, and leaves the reader feeling as if God is embracing them, and comforting them.
Dr. Alveda King wrote the forward, and Samuel later tells us how that came about. How cool is that?! I cannot recommend this beautifully written book enough. It’s the kind of book that you want a physical copy of, so you can display it, and share it with others.
